Asian Handicap Explained

Premier Football Investments frequently recommends bets in alternative Asian Handicap markets you may not be familiar with.

This guide has been compiled to help you understand the rules for bet settlement in the Asian handicap markets where we'll be most frequently placing bets.

0 Asian Handicap (same as draw no bet)

When we bet on a side 0 on the Asian handicap, it's the same as a bet in the draw-no-bet market.

If the side we back wins the match we win our bet, if they lose we lose our bet, and if the match finishes in a draw then our stake is refunded.

+1 or -1 Asian Handicap

Similar to the 0 Asian Handicap but with a 1 goal head start for the underdog.

If we back a side -1 then they need to win the match by 2 or more goals for us to win the bet, if they draw or lose by any score we lose the bet, and if they win the match by exactly one goal then our stake is refunded.

On the other end, if we back a side +1 then we win the bet if they win the match or it finishes in a draw. If they lose by 2 or more goals then we lose the bet, and if they lose by exactly 1 goal then our stake is refunded.

-0.5, -1.5, +0.5, +1.5 Asian Handicap

These handicap lines all ensure no refunded bets.

If we back a side -0.5 they simply have to win the match or else we lose our bet.

At -1.5 they have to win by 2 goals or more or else we lose our bet.

When we back a side +0.5 we win the bet if they win the match or draw and lose the bet if they lose.

When we back a side +1.5 we win the bet if they win the match, draw or lose by 1 goal and lose the bet if they lose by 2 goals or more.

DOUBLE (1/4 BALL) ASIAN HANDICAPS

These are some of the most difficult to understand at first but actually quite simple once you get the hang of it.

0/0.5 (0.25) Asian Handicap

If you bet on a team that is 0/-0.5 (-0.25) on the handicap then your stake is split with half of it going towards a 0 handicap bet and the other half towards a -0.5 handicap.

Results are as follows:

If the team you backed wins the match then you win the entire bet.

If the match finishes in a draw you lose half your stake -- the -0.5 part of the bet loses while the 0 part of the bet is refunded.

If they lose the match then your entire stake is lost.

Likewise, if you bet on a team at 0/+0.5 (+0.25) then your stake is split between the 2 handicap lines.

If the team you backed wins the match then you win the entire bet.

If the match finishes in a draw the 0 handicap half of your stake is refunded, while the +0.5 half of your stake wins.

If they lose the match then your entire stake is lost.

0.5/1 (0.75) Asian Handicap

Similar to the previous example, your stake is split between 2 bets.

At -0.5/-1 (-0.75) you win the entire bet if your side wins by 2 goals or more.

If they win by exactly 1 goal half your stake (-1) is refunded but you win the other half of the bet placed at -0.5.

If they draw or lose the match then you lose your entire stake.

At +0.5/+1 (+0.75) you win the entire bet if the side you backed wins the match or it finishes in a draw.

If they lose by exactly one goal half your stake (+1) is refunded and you lose the other half (+0.5) of your bet.

If they lose by 2 goals or more then you lose your entire stake.

1/1.5 (1.25) Asian Handicap

Again here your stake is split between 2 bets.

At -1/-1.5 (-1.25) you win the entire bet if your side wins by 2 or more goals.

If they win by exactly 1 goal you lose half your stake (-1.5) and the other half (-1) is refunded.

If they draw or lose the match you lose your entire stake.

At +1/+1.5 (+1.25) you win the entire bet if the side you backed wins the match or draws.

If they lose by exactly 1 goal then you win half the bet (+1.5) and the other half (+1) is refunded.

If they lose by 2 goals or more then you lose your entire stake.
